Yellow Lady’s Slipper
I missed seeing these in bloom last year, by just a few days. In another week they should be gorgeous.

Yellow Lady Slippers are truly one of the jewels of the forest floor! I have one plant in a small patch or restored mesic prairie on my land in the Driftless area of Wisconsin. I have written about it twice on my blog which details what my husband and I are doing and learning as we take care of our 44 acres. We have battled with the deer who love the Lady Slippers for their taste more than their beauty.
Check out our adventures. My post today concerns the happy resolution of the Case of the Missing Lady Slipper.
